It’s not your imagination - the weather can have a dramatic effect on your health and well-being. This should come as no surprise though and especially is known to many Arthritis sufferers. Here’s what research reveals about the connection between weather and arthritis pain.
Changes in temperature or barometric pressure, a measure that refers to the weight of the surrounding air, trigger joint pain, though researchers aren’t entirely sure why.
In 2007, researchers at Tufts University in Boston reported that every 10-degree drop in temperature corresponded with an incremental increase in arthritis pain. Increasing barometric pressure was also a pain trigger in the Tufts study.
So no, as i stated in the beginning, it's not all in your head. Acupuncture is a great and very effective way to relieve and sometimes even reverse Arthritis even when you have been told "just to live with it".
In the picture below the client was unable to move her index finger at all, there was a constant throbbing sensation and the finger was very hot to touch in comparison to the rest of the hand. After only three sessions, the client was able to return to work with out any pain and had full mobility of the finger. What can i say, Acupuncture works!
Just a side note about this case. This particular client came in as soon as she started to feel pain and had only just begun to experience Arthritis of the fingers and so was in the acute phase. Many of my other cases get great results, however, as with most ailments the speed of results is based on a case by case basis which i make all my clients aware of in the first session.
